Client Policies and Practice Guidelines

The work we do together is built on reciprocity, mutuality, and respect.

These guidelines help protect the time, privacy, presence, and commitments we each bring to our work together. They provide a concise overview of the policies that apply unless a separate service-specific agreement states otherwise.

Questions are always welcome.

Appointments, Cancellations & Payment

Scheduling & Arrival

Appointments are scheduled by mutual agreement. Please plan to arrive approximately 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment so there is time to settle in, address questions, and discuss any preferences before we begin.

If you expect to be late, please contact me when reasonably possible. A late arrival may require shortening the appointment so that subsequent commitments can begin on time.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled without charge when at least 24 hours’ notice is provided.

The first late cancellation will ordinarily be waived as a courtesy. After that courtesy has been used, cancellations or rescheduling with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged 50% of the scheduled service fee.

Genuine emergencies, severe weather, illness, and other exceptional circumstances will be considered individually.

Missed Appointments

A missed appointment without notice will be charged the full scheduled service fee. Any outstanding missed-appointment fee must be paid before another appointment can be scheduled.

Fees & Payment

Fees will be clearly communicated before services are scheduled. Unless another arrangement has been made in advance, payment is due before the appointment begins.

Privacy, Consent & Recording

Privacy, Confidentiality & Trust

Personal information and experiences shared during individual sessions will be treated as private and confidential. I will not discuss or disclose what you share without your permission, except when disclosure is required by applicable law or legal process.

Because Helping People Reconnect provides complementary, reflective, educational, and supportive services rather than licensed medical or mental-health care, the legal rules governing confidentiality may not be identical to those that apply in licensed healthcare relationships. That distinction does not change my commitment to treating you and what you share with care, discretion, and respect.

Physical Touch

Physical touch is never required to receive Reiki. When Reiki includes light physical contact, touch will be used only with your consent and within the preferences discussed for the session. You may identify areas where you do not wish to be touched and may change or withdraw your consent at any time.

Photography & Recording

Private Reiki sessions may not be photographed, recorded, livestreamed, or otherwise captured. Recording of Threshold Conversations, guided meditation, or other private sessions is also generally not permitted unless we have specifically discussed and agreed to it in advance.

Ceremonies and public events are different, and expectations regarding photography or recording can be discussed during planning.

Social Media & Promotional Use

Consent to receive services does not constitute consent to social-media or promotional use. I will not publicly share identifiable photographs, recordings, testimonials, or information about your participation without your permission.

Please obtain my permission before publicly posting identifiable images or recordings of me while I am providing services or tagging my personal social-media accounts.

Communication, Boundaries & Scope

Electronic Communication

Text and email may be used for scheduling, directions, follow-up information, and other practical matters. Messages may not be seen or answered immediately and do not create an expectation of around-the-clock availability.

Because text, email, and social-media messaging are not always fully private or secure, please use your own discretion when sharing sensitive information electronically.

Services are provided during our agreed-upon time together rather than through ongoing text or email exchanges unless we have specifically arranged otherwise. Electronic communication should not be used for emergencies, crisis intervention, or situations requiring immediate medical or mental-health assistance.

Personal Boundaries

Both client and facilitator have the right to establish and maintain personal and professional boundaries. Either person may request a pause or end a session.

I reserve the right to decline or discontinue services when continuing would be inappropriate, unsafe, outside my scope, or inconsistent with maintaining respectful professional boundaries.

Medical & Mental-Health Care

Services offered by Helping People Reconnect are complementary, reflective, educational, and supportive in nature. They are not provided as licensed medical or mental-health care.

I do not diagnose medical or mental-health conditions, prescribe medication, or recommend discontinuing medical or psychological treatment. Clients should continue working with qualified healthcare professionals for medical and mental-health concerns.

When a person’s needs fall outside the scope of the services I provide, appropriate licensed, medical, emergency, or crisis support should be sought.

Minors & Off-Site Services

Services for anyone under 18 require the consent of a parent or legal guardian and the appropriate minor consent and assent forms.

When an approved service involves travel or takes place at another agreed-upon location, any applicable arrangements or travel fees will be discussed before the appointment is scheduled.

Questions & Agreements

This page provides a public summary of the primary policies and practice guidelines of Helping People Reconnect. It does not replace any intake, informed-consent, or service-specific agreement that may apply.

Before receiving services, you may be asked to review and sign the appropriate forms. You are always welcome to ask questions or request clarification before scheduling.
